Sören and his fellow seamen are heading towards their home in Sweden when they see lights on a northern island of Germany. As they all are pretty hungry and exhausted they decide to stop there and get some good rest and a good meal before heading home again.

In the local tavern of Rungholt Sören meets Brunhilde and falls in love with her and thus decides to stay in Rungholt. While his friends are heading homewards he starts building a life and family with Brunhilde. One day in 1362 Sören is out fishing for his family when a big seawave hit Rungholt and buried the entire town under water.

Sören is the only one to survive the big flood and is telling his story with this music.
